The above banner and slogan is quite deceptive and an utter joke to those that are truly aware to the ACLU's workings. Just in the past week the ACLU has launched a massive campaign against the NSA's efforts to trace terrorist phone calls into the U.S. This campaign with full page ads has even been denounced by media that usually defend the ACLU as completely lacking in context. In just the last few days the ACLU has pounced at the chance to bash America, applauding the decision of an EU Court that struck down an anti-terrorism agreement that allows the European Union and the U.S. to share information on airline passengers. And in the same day the ACLU of Florida came out against a new law that restricts colleges and universities from using state funds for travel to countries classified as terrorist states by the U.S. government.

The ACLU consistently allign themselves with groups like CAIR, and other organizations that have known terrorist ties. They have turned down donations from some of their most generous donors because of anti-terrorism stipulations. They can always be seen defending our enemies. It is no wonder that they fight to exempt lawyers from anti-terror supporting oaths.

A while back, my friend Kathy wrote about how deceptive this banner is, and it still applies today.

So now the ACLU is promoting itself as a champion of both safety for our citizens and of freedom. What a joke! When 9-11 occurred what measures did the ACLU take to ensure our safety? None, zip, nada. This organization has done nothing to ensure our safety, in fact it has chosen to sue our government on behalf of terrorists outside of their legal jurisdiction while they were located in prisons on foreign soil.

They have since then demanded that the government release and make public top secret security information regarding not only the activities of our military, but also that of our intelligence forces. They have also initiated one lawsuit after another against the government to stop the searching of individuals for security purposes in mass transit situations, to stop what they call profiling (we will never see a Protestant white middle-aged woman as a terrorist working with an extremist Islamic organization) by race, sex and religion, and to stop the government from detaining and questioning or interrogating individuals who have ties or contact with known terrorist individuals and organizations.

They want to kill the Patriot Act because they see the rights of an individual who may or may not be an American citizen as more important than the safety of the nation at large. They want the borders open because they see that as an infringement of the rights of non-Americans to become Americans however they can manage it. They want to have military and intelligence sources, activities, and planning revealed to the public so they can "watch dog" and ensure freedoms of individuals and/or groups are not being compromised, but in doing so will enable those very individuals and/or groups under surveillance the ability to avoid surveillance and possible capture before they do something destructive to American citizens.

They say they are for a safe and free America. Yet their actions speak very loudly the opposite of the lip service they give in this banner for a safe America. As to a free America, how free are American's who live under constant threat of a lawsuit by the ACLU for imagined Constitutional transgressions by a small group of jaded individuals who think their rights are more important than the communities they live in or the country they obviously find such fault with?

As for the part of the banner that says they want a free America, perhaps a better slogan would be...."If standards are good, then double standards must be even better." When it comes to freedom of speech, the ACLU trip over their own two feet. While the left hand defends the rights of anti-American protesters, the right hand acts to supress the free speech rights of pro-life protesters. When it comes to religious free speech, the ACLU act more like a censor than a protector. The hypocrisy of the ACLU on freedom of speech has even been noticed by its own board members, but the ACLU has a solution to that....restrict their speech.

There are very few organizations that are as hypocritical, and dangerous as the ACLU. I really don't understand why so many politicians sit aside and do nothing to curb the reckless power they have accumulated. However, as many people are seeing in today's times, when the government doesn't do what it should, the people rise up and stand up for their own rights.

The ACLU and the judicial activists are destroying our heritage, security, and our soverignity. They are doing it with our tax dollars. Join us, and the American Legion to urge Congress to put a stop to this. Support Congressman Hostettler's legislation to stop taxpayer funding of the ACLU.

A little wager perhaps....question: When Wide Awakes Radio launches on July 4th, how many trolls will call in the first 48 hours?

Current favorite answer is three, but my money is on none, absolutely zero....

They don't have the balls.....or the skill....or probably the opposable thumb to dial with.

    But we'll see.
(click the title).....but sad nonetheless......folks, go donate money to Air America.

We must keep the idiocy of liberalism on the air, lest it fester without the daylight and grow bigger, like a giant patch of deadly mold sitting in your wall.

Seriously....it aint going away, so we need a way to expose it.
The ones where some strange alien has infected the populace and is slowly propagating through it, changing people, and nobody notices the huge bulge on the backs of everyone's neck but people start noticing how strange people are acting, and thinking "Gee, that's odd, Johnny never used to snatch flies out of the air and eat them, I wonder what's got into him?"

    Yeah....those sci-fi movies?

Read the article linked in the title and tell me that something odd isn't happening with our judges and the Scourge of Islam.

Now what we need is a hero that can swagger into town and wipethe place up with these fucking idiots!!!!!

We may not be willing to go to war with Iran, but Iran is prepping itself to go to war with us. From long-range missiles to Iran's pursuit of American weaponry, they've been working on militarizing their nation. Now, the Iranian propoganda machine has been put in motion. Stop the ACLU now has information regarding what rhetoric is now being broadcast across that nation.

While America is doing its best to solve the problem with Iran through diplomatic means, Iran seems to be provoking us with propaganda. Allah Pundit points us to this Memri video that claims that Iran has captured American troops. The propaganda they are running with seems to be from 2004 with captured Britans. However, this is only the beginning of their brainwashing propaganda.

Stop the ACLU also has the video. This is all an obvious attempt to provoke action on our part, and encourage the Iranian people to hate Americans. It's just like Saddam's propoganda television. Allah Pundit chimes in:

This is just a coming attraction, mind you. The transcript says a full program, called “The Illusion of Power,” will air on Iranian TV soon. (Update: I’m pretty sure at least some of the footage comes from this incident dating to June 2004. That involved three British patrol boats, but MEMRI says some of the men in the video are American soldiers. I don’t remember any cases of Iran capturing U.S. troops; does anyone else? In any case, the fact that they’re running this stuff on TV now certainly lends credence to Captain Ed’s theory.)

I agree with the entire theory, which is that Iran is moving onto war footing. If you don't think Ahmadinejad is crazy enough to plan a war with the United States, look at his history. He's denied the Holocaust, said Israel should be wiped off the map, and is pushing for nuclear weapons. Get ready, because the war rhetoric is only going to be stepped up.
***and any other Senator that voted for amnesty

Senators, you will take note that I am not adding in the customary honorific of "Honorable", as you are not, by any stretch of the imagination, deft twist of reality or play on words, honorable.

How dare you fold like a cheap suit and try to give our country away to a group of brazen thugs and ingrateful whiners who make demands that, by all logical reasoning (which I am now doubtful that any of you possess), they are not entitled to in the least.

You have cast your lot, shown your colors and declared that your allegiance is not to those who have placed in you such trust and power, but with those that would ignore our laws, and demand to be handed that which we have worked so hard to secure and defend these last 230 years, without so much as a "by your leave" or a "kiss my ass."

I, like many, many of my fellow countrymen, citizens all, both native born and naturalized, are outraged beyond words, and our only solace, at the moment, is November is coming quickly, and we will not let those that head to the polls forget what you have attempted to do today.

We feel dirty. We feel betrayed. We feel anger.

But when you lie down with dogs....well, we had no idea when we placed you in your oh-so-lofty office that your hearts and interests were so opposite to ours, but that's ok......as I said, we have seen, and we won't forget.

So my advice to you is line up that agent for your book deal, you traitorous cretins, because come November I bet many of you will have much more time on your hands.

    Carolyn Hileman adds:
62 of our senators voted to sell out the country today. There is still a glimmer of hope that congress will kill the bill but unless we hit them hard I am not sure I see that happening either. The official vote was 62 to 36, I will get the names of these traitors and I will give them to you. I want those names remembered I want those people voted out.

    I couldn't agree more Carolyn.

This is the kind of hypocrisy that Conservatives and most reasonable liberals can agree that the ACLU needs to some house cleaning on. Via NY Times….

The American Civil Liberties Union is weighing new standards that would discourage its board members from publicly criticizing the organization’s policies and internal administration.

“Where an individual director disagrees with a board position on matters of civil liberties policy, the director should refrain from publicly highlighting the fact of such disagreement,” the committee that compiled the standards wrote in its proposals.

“Directors should remember that there is always a material prospect that public airing of the disagreement will affect the A.C.L.U. adversely in terms of public support and fund-raising,” the proposals state.

Given the organization’s longtime commitment to defending free speech, some former board members were shocked by the proposals.

Keep scrolling down. The criminal alien insanity starts here today. Three new stories.

First up on the block, how many pet causes can a lefty fit in one bill?
Nobody knows....but they've decided to add gay rights into the whole immigration mix.

    How droll.

(Washington, D.C., May 2, 2006) – Thousands of U.S. citizens and their foreign same-sex partners face enormous hardships, separation and even exile because discriminatory U.S. immigration policies deprive these couples of the basic right to be together, Human Rights Watch and Immigration Equality said in a report released today.

"Discriminatory U.S. immigration laws turn the American dream into a heartless nightmare for countless U.S. citizens and their foreign partners," said Scott Long, co-author of the report and director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights Program of Human Rights Watch. "As Congress debates immigration reforms, it should end discrimination against lesbian and gay immigrants as well as their U.S. partners."

I hear PETA is jumping on this bandwagon as well, with a demand that all sealife be given U.S. Passports and a new Drivers Licenses for Dogs program, in addition to making every bird that flies in U.S. airspace legal and signing them up to vote.

The first-ever comprehensive report on the issue, "Family, Unvalued: Discrimination, Denial and the Fate of Binational Same-Sex Couples under U.S. Law," documents how U.S immigration law and federal policy discriminate against binational same-sex couples. The 191-page report documents the consequences of this discrimination and shows how it can separate not only loving partners from one another, but also parents from children. It also shows how this policy has destroyed careers, livelihoods and lives.

For more than 50 years, family reunification has been a stated and central goal of U.S. immigration policy.

Here's a way to keep families together....deport the ones that sneak in here back to their families...problem frickin solved.

If you have the fortitude to wade through it, here is the report. If you want a copy of the entire email this was culled from, drop me a line with "Gay Aliens" in the subject line.
#2 with a bang today is a story of intrigue and insanity straight out of the dirty city of San Francisco.

At 53 Stevenson St. in San Francisco, a block off of the World Famous Market St. and about half a mile from the equally infamous Embarcadero sits a little restaurant called Si Senor Taqueria.

It seems they had a worker named Sonia Cano. What follows is her story, as I received it in email.
Sonia Cano and Carlos Barrancos worked hard to support themselves and to start their young family. However, when Sonia stood up for her right to be paid the SF minimum wage, Si Senor Taqueria owners did everything they could to tear apart this young family. Sonia sought help from Young Workers United (YWU) and the City of San Francisco Office of Labor Standards Enforcement. Her claims led to thousands of dollars in back wage payments to the Si Senor workers.

So, Young Workers United and the City of San Francisco helped this criminal alien get back wages. One would think that a city of the United States would be concerned with the laws of the land and tell this young woman, "Sorry, you aren't here legally, all we can do is offer you a ride back to whatever country you came from."
On the other hand, at least the person that hired poor little criminal alien Sonia was "fined" in a way. You know what they say, when you lie down with dogs.....

However, within days of filing her wage claim, Sonia was fired from her job. YWU has evidence that some of the owners further retaliated against Sonia by having a letter sent to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with false and malicious claims against the couple. Neither of them have criminal records and all of the charges were fabricated.

All of the charges were fabricated? One wonders if the charge of being in the country illegally was fabricated?

Without any investigation into the validity of the tip, ICE raided the couple's apartment when Sonia was nine months pregnant and detained Carlos for deportation. Sonia was left without income or support for six weeks while her partner was held in a detention center in Eloy, Arizona. Being nine months pregnant and without any income when Carlos was detained, I counted on the support of my friends, Young Workers United and my legal team, said Sonia.

Now what I want to know is why wasn't Carlos deported? Why wasn't Sonia deported? They really should have deported her before she dropped that foal. While were editorializing here, Young Workers United should be brought up on charges of aiding and abetting illegal activity.

YWU representative Mehera Reiter said: "Employers intimidate immigrants from standing up for their rights. We need real immigration reform to protect the rights of workers and punish employers who break the law.

Mehera? You are absolutely right. Especially the second part about punishing employers who break the law. The first part is a moot point, because LEGAL WORKERS HAVE RIGHTS!!!!!!!

Not only did Cano win the minimum wage case, but also in May of 2006 she settled a claim with Si Senor for charges of discrimination, defamation, and retaliation with firing and sending ICE. Cano stated: "Don't remain silent. Stand up for your rights and look for support from the community because we all deserve our rights at work."

No, Sonia, if you are here illegally you deserve nothing more than a quick trip back to whatever country you came from when you snuck in here.

You, Sonia, don't deserve one damned thing. By sneaking in here in the first place you have shown that you don't know what it means to be an American. Nobody "owes" you anything, and you have no "right to work", and you ARE illegal, and by now you have dropped that foal and our insane policy of anchor babies has allowed you to stay, and we can't get rid of you, but know this.....there is a reason they are called "anchor babies" and it is not because it anchors you to the country, but rather because that child is going to grow up to be an anchor around the neck of the legal citizens of the United States.

You didn't have enough honor to come here legally, and if one thing is integral to being a good citizen it is honor. You cannot pass along something you do not possess.

There will be a rally by a small but hardy horde of unwashed, patchouli reeking, tree-hugging 'frisco hippies at the restaurant on Wed. the 24th to "protest" Si Senor Taqueria's lack of compassion for the criminal alien they couldn't get rid themselves of....I wonder who'll cater it?
And finally we have this....enjoy your day.

    Amnesty works, right?

Remember in 1986, when President Reagan signed the Immigration and Reform Control Act? The one time amnesty that was supposed to increase enforcment and reduce illegal immigtaion?

    Yeah, THAT ONE?????

Well, for a boots on the ground perspective from the guys that fight this battle every damned day on the front frickin line, go read this ariticle. It is also linked in the title.

    From that article:
"Every day that President Bush and the Senate hold real border security hostage to their misguided amnesty program, thousands upon thousands of illegal aliens continue to flood into the country," said the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) Local 2544 in Arizona. "Make no mistake, most of them get by us. We are losing this war, and it's not even close."

The Tucson chapter is the NBPC's largest. The union represents the agency's 10,000 nonsupervisory agents. More than half of the 1.15 million illegal aliens apprehended last year by the agency were detained in the Tucson sector.

A flood of illegal aliens into the United States has impacted and, in many cases, overwhelmed schools, health care, the environment and the criminal justice system, veteran Border Patrol agents and supervisors in Arizona told The Washington Times.

Go read the rest of it.

And now for someting completely different, may I present you with the comedic stylings of Al? Al is a first generation Moron, and is active in the field of Idiocy, and his favorite hobbies are drooling on himself while huffing under the stairs and babbling incoherently while begging on freeway offramps.

I received an email from Al, and in it he was making the very stupifying point that....well, sit back and take a look, but just don't come drooling to me when your IQ drops trying to decipher if someone this plain stupid can masticate and ambulate concurrently.

Al's Original Email Points, and my response, (edited for highlights)
You see it everyday, when FOX, MSNBC, CNN, your local affiliates...run video of immigrants crossing the border....how....

It is "suspension of disbelief," because you actually see it happening, but you don't want to... [or are incapable - due to your "clouded" racism- to] see reality....

You see it, yet they tell you "we need fences"...and you believe and go against yoru logic, and swallow the bad rhetoric, the bias hype, the racist vision of stopping immigrants with fences...

BUT, you are actually seeing fences that don't work...wake up...I said...FOX, MSNBC, CNN and your local ABC, NBC, CBS affiliates actually are showing you immigrants crossing through, around, under, and over all these fences ...and you still insist that a "border fence" is the answer....dah!!!!

Guess what, your a racists....you have "suspended your disbelief"....you have stopped believing what you actually are witnessing, seeing, and experiencing...

The 911 hijackers came through the Canadian border, the "millenium bomber" came through the Washington state border from Canada...to bomb LAX...remember that one?

The Canadian border is better suited for "fencing," and sensor use, because it is less distance to cover...then the Mexican border....and if your going to throw money, throw less money at the Canadian border then the Mexican border...if your going to test a theory...don't spend so much taxpayer money...on a losing proposition...building a fence along the Mexican border

terrorists came in through Canada not Mexico, it has less border to guard, and therefore would cost less then along the Mexican border...

OK, before we go any further, let's recap. Al says if you see people going over, through or under the fence at the border, and say "We need a bigger fence" then you have "suspended your disbelief". Al also states that the Mexican border is longer than the Canadian border so we should build a fence their first. I didn't bother telling Al that it isn't Canada that is flooding us with their low wage and low skill workers.

Al, the Mexican border is 1,951 miles long, (3,141 km), while the Canadian border is 5,525 miles long (8,891 km), which makes the Canadian border about 2.8 times as long.

The group that attacked on 9/11 came in on visas and over stayed them. They came her legally, but didn't stay legally.

These facts make your claim "terrorists came in through Canada not Mexico, it has less border to guard, and therefore would cost less then along the Mexican border..." specious and easily refuted and does not help the cause when you spread dis-information.

At this point I am being nice, as I use this list for intel....or at least I did...if Al reads this they may take me off of the mailing list.

    Kender,
You are sharp as ever, but you will admit, they came in through CANADA and not MEXICO...now tell me about the "suspension of disbelief"...do you believe the medias film and video actually tell you that "fences " are not, and have never been a good solution...???
Thanks for noticing my errors and flaws, and I hope it gets more people to respond
    ....

So far Al is being nice also....but I keep wondering if if that last line actually meant that he was putting out the wrong information in the hopes of getting more of a response?

Al, I don't believe that the current fences can keep out an epileptic parapalegic with crossed eyes and a bad sense of direction, much less a determined person that can walk and scale fences, but the current plan from www.weneedafence.com would make getting over or under it much, much harder.

The 9/11 crew may have come in through Canada, but they came in on Visa's, and I recall a couple of them came in directly from a Middle Eastern country, and it becomes a moot point of where they came in, as they came in legally, but becomes a valid argument for shoring up security and monitoring of guests with visas, as they illegally overstayed their visas, becoming lawbreakers.

Ok, here's where Al starts huffin....

So your defference with my comment, is that today's fences don't work, and video and film shown on media outlets prove that...yet you think that making it much harder will solve the "porous fence" problem....otherwise known as "throw and waste more money" given to no-bid cronys that will probably kick it back to the Repugs...for their Nov 2006 campaigns....????

Suspension of Disbelief - please define it in your own words...so that I can understand why you do not BELIEVE in it as a means to frame thinking...???

There are plenty that come in through Mexico with Visas and then overstay....also...thus becoming illegal at a later time, much as the Canadian 911 hijackers...so what is your point....???

I am leaving out all of the screed about poppy fields, Bush financing 9/11 and "framed intelligence"...

The case of "suspension of disbelief" (whatever that is...I think it means living in reality-ED) cannot be made for one simple reason. There is no reason to believe that a properly constructed and patrolled fence would not be effective and cut down on how may people come across it.

Suspension of disbelief, in this case, could be made if the video were shown and the call to replace the fence that people are running through were simply to replace it with the same fence. That is not the case so suspension of belief does not apply. Saying "Wow, they cut a hole in the chain link fence so go fix the fence and that will fix the problem" would be a suspension of disbelief. Saying "wow, they cut a hole in the chain link fence so let's build a 20 foot high wall and patrol it" is not suspension of disbelief, it is a solution.

    Does that make sense?

    Does that make sense indeed......

To "suspend" ones ability to "disbelieve"...is my take...one stops NOT Believing in reality....or logic....
To be watching fences being crossed at will, by what ever method...and then be told that we need to build more, bigger, wider, stronger...is to "not believe" that fences are not solutions....

For instance..."fences cannot stop AVian Flu"...or small pox, or a river changing it's course....
That is to say...as I review your words....people crossing a bridge over water, can be stopped by building a higher walled, and patroled bridge....or as the French believed...a "margino line" of defense is the end all of the Nazis incurring into France....it was bigger, taller, stronger, and manned....

What did the Nazi's do....avoided it altogether....went around it, went over it, went through it....too...did it keep the Germans out because they threw more money at it....NO

If you build a fence, that doesn't mean that immigrants will come to, or use the fence...when your neighbor wants to see you, he avoids the fence and goes to the front door, a window, or another edge of the backyard....YES....agree....

Consider this...what if immigrants took a Pacific or Atlantic cruise to get to Canada and then came through that northern way....what good is the fence then....all alone by itself in the Mexican border....NOT GOOD at all...

Al really went off on a bit of a tangent there, didn't he?
To "suspend" ones ability to "disbelieve" one stops NOT Believing in reality....or logic.... If one stops NOT believing in reality, that means they are now believing in reality, but when one looks at reality, and believes that a bigger fence WON'T stop people, are they living in reality? Hell no....and that whole "take a cruise to Canada to sneak into the U.S.? Is that fricking COMEDY or what???

Now, here's the rest of the conversation, so far.

Am I to understand that you believe "To be watching fences being crossed at will, by what ever method...and then be told that we need to build more, bigger, wider, stronger...is to "not believe" that fences are not solutions...."
IT IS TO BELIEVE THAT FENCES ARE THE ANSWER, THE SOLUTION, AS YOU ARE IN VISUAL EVIDENCE BY VIEWING THESE VIDEO AND FILM REPRESENTATIONS...THAT - PEOPLE WILL CROSS, AT WILL BY WHAT EVER METHOD, AND BUILDING MORE ARE NOT A SOLUTION OR ANSWER...BUT I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU - HAVE "SUSPENDED YOUR "DISBELIEF" OF WHAT REALITY YOU ARE WITNESSING

Are you saying that if I see someone hop a fence, and I say "Build a bigger fence" that I DO NOT believe that a bigger fence would work? That is exactly what you have said.

YES, EVERY HEAR OF "POLE VAULTING"...AIRPLANES, HELICOPTERS, - ALL UNDER RADAR, AND OF COURSE TUNNELS...??

Fences are not designed to keep out avian flu, as that comes fom birds, and birds fly. Fences also work poorly against gophers and others creatures that burrow. So that is a moot point.

THEN WHY ARE MEDICAL CENTERS BUILT AT BORDERS TO CHECK HUMANS FOR DISEASES...IF NOT TO KEEP DISEASES OUT, THE PROBLEM HERE IS IN DESIGN...

BUT STILL UNDERSTAND THAT FENCES CANNOT KEEP EVERYONE, EVERYTHING, OR ANYTHING FROM CROSSING...YOU MAKE MY ARGUMENT WHEN YOU STATE THAT "FENCES ALSO WORK POORLY AGAINST GOPHERS AND OTHER CREATURES THAT BURROW"...

UNDERSTAND THAT HUMANS BURROW ALSO...THAT'S MY POINT

So now Al is saying that people burrow (true, but it's rare), and someone should remind him that it is impossible to check poeople for disease when they SNEAK IN....oh, and don't forget the pole vaulting that will suddenly commence with a larger fence....anything to get to the good ol' U.S.of A.

As for the Nazis and the Maginot Line, it was a static barrier, much like a fence, however it was not a complete barrier, and the Nazis did an end run around it and came in throught the back door. They didn't go over it....

KENDER, YOU CONTINUE TO "SUSPEND YOUR ABILITY TO ' DISBELIEVE' "...

Yes Al, I have suspended my "ability to disbelieve"....in other words, I no longer have the ability to DISBELIEVE something......Looking at a fence that people are jumping over, and thinking that a bigger fence would stop that nonsense is simply common sense.....looking at that same situation, and thinking "Wow, those people can jump fences, so fences dont' work" is actually a stupid way to look at it.

Al goes on to add in these gems:

EVERY HEAR OF "LAWS ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN"...

BUT, ARGUE THIS...."WHY NOT BUILD A CANADIAN FENCE THEN...." AS AN EXPERIEMENT SUCH AS THE MEXICAN FENCE PROJECT IS, THAT WILL FAIL....A CANADIAN FENCE WOULD COST LESS....

HOWEVER, A MORE ENLIGHTENED VIEW AND "OUTSIDE THE BOX" THINKING WOULD.. - TAKE A CRUISE FOR LESS MONEY, AND WITH MORE GAIN IN FINANCIAL REMUNERATION....AND AVOID HAVING TO CLIMB, DIG, OR GO THROUGH PHYSICAL BARRIERS...

And this is where this exchange stopped. Al's "laws are made to be broken" comment really pissed me off. It is the absolute moral corruption of the culture south of the border epitomized by Al's comment on law that is a hallmark of why Mexico is broken, and shall remain that way.

    Go take a cruise Al...
Folks, the most cowardly troll I have ever had just slithered back in for a moment.

He is completely anonymous, leaving no valid contact info, so pretty much doesn't get his comments let through, EVER!!!

He hates our military, stating in one comment on a post that mentioned my bud Snax heading to Iraq "Hathaway will be a corpse by February.

Nope, in fact I think it was in March that I ran into Hathaway at Atlanta Airport the day he was deploying. Traded emails with him just yesterday AM.

But the fact that Hathaway is still barreling around Al Anbar province in a tank today makes your guess a bad one, Hardy Har Har.

Hardy's email address never works, because Hardy is a fucking coward, and his latest comment follows:
LOL you are SO FREAKIN RETARDED kender. Anyone as off kilter as you seriously does not deserve the organ transplant you have in you now.

    Kind no?

That's ok though. The organ failed and I am back on dialysis. Why do I bring this topic up? Because Hardy is a coward of the lowest form, and I love seeing if cowards can grow a backbone and back their shit up.....I have learned they never do.

So here's the deal, "Hardy Har Har", you chickenshit little bitch, I KNOW you won't reveal yourself because I have more courage in my toenail clippings than you will have ever in your whole body over the course of your entire life, but here's a promise you cowardly little fucker:

If I ever find out who you are, and I meet you face to face, I am going to kick your ass, and by that I mean that I am going to cause you physical, intense, life altering pain that will leave you in need of serious medical care and wallowing in constant painful misery for the rest of your useless, cowardly life.

Feel free to consider that a threat, you little bitch. What you gonna do? Call the cops and whine? Go ahead, because the moment you do, I know who you are, and if you think for a moment that I wouldn't gladly, happily face the consequences of those actions to physically get my hands on you, then you have no idea what courage is about.
Or rather, the list of companies I personally am boycotting. That sucks too, because I love Gatorade.

The pictures below come from a Gatorade commercial. Apparently Gatorade has seen fit to make a commercial purporting to show the American Soccer team overcoming very adverse conditions, but I for one am angry that they would start a commercial out with Yankee Go Home signs.

Can anyone decipher what the sign on the fence says?

Here's the commercial in all of it's subtle anti-American sentiment.

Watch it on You Tube here.

With a tip o' me tam to Pirates Cove for bringing this to my attention and urging a boycott.

Voice your displeasure with gatorade here.
...tell me we don't need a wall and more than 600 troops between us and doom.

When the next attack comes it will be the fault of all that oppose securing our border, starting with Bush, Vicente Fox and every damned person in governmnet that refuse to do their job, and rolling down to the newest idealistic "voter" that marched through the streets disrupting traffic and losing wages on May 1st.

With a big tip o' me tam to Carolyn Hilemen at The Voice Blog.
One thing is for sure, the liberals can't say this was government endorsed. I applaud these young men and women for standing up for their rights, and setting the example for others. The ACLU filed suit on behalf of one student who felt offended that a prayer would be included in their graduation ceremony. U.S. District Judge Joseph McKinley granted a temporary restraining order sought by a student. Here is how the students responded to the attempts to censor them.

The senior class at a southern Kentucky high school gave their response Friday night to a federal judge's order banning prayer at commencement.

About 200 seniors stood during the principal's opening remarks and began reciting the Lord's Prayer, prompting a standing ovation from a standing-room only crowd at the Russell County High School gymnasium.

The thunderous applause drowned out the last part of the prayer.

The revival like atmosphere continued when senior Megan Chapman said in her opening remarks that God had guided her since childhood. Chapman was interrupted repeatedly by the cheering crowd as she urged her classmates to trust in God as they go through life.

The challenge made the graduation even better because it unified the senior class, Chapman said.

"It made the whole senior class come together as one and I think that's the best way to go out," said Chapman, who plans to attend the University of the Cumberlands with her twin sister Megan.

The graduation took place about 12 hours after a federal judge blocked the inclusion of prayer as part of Russell County High School's graduation ceremonies.

    Bravo!

The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiller tells us that the "unidentified student" isn't really so unidentified after all. Yeah, I forgot to mention that. Her name is Arshiya Saiyed, a 17 year old Muslim student. For some reason the MSM doesn't want you know that.

I don't know if you have been following the whole brouhaha that has a Wonkette blogger posting crap about Michelle Malkin, but many in the blogosphere have been covering it with pretty much the same words, "They attack Michelle and call her a whore and prove they're childish beyond the pale."

I haven't seen one person that is defending Michelle get riled and fly of the handle over this, instead sitting calmly and pointing out that the yoyo that attacked her over the video blogging was simply being a cretinous moron with an empty head and full drool bib.

I feel it is time for someone to toss out the words that, deep down, many people feel towards the tard bait that has a sense of humor approaching that of soap.

    So allow me.

Dude, you are perhaps the stupidest asswipe that we have seen in ages, and your little butt buddy "operative" certainly must share the helmet with you the next time you go walking. (tangent: is "operative" a shortened screen name? or was "pre-operative" already taken?)

Seriously, the hate you create by attacking your betters would have earned you a well deserved beating one hundred years ago.......and now, you turdmunchingfellatiousfucktard, you know WHY conservatives yearn for the old days.
Take my new banner for instance.

    Awesome aint it?

I love it...even have a different version waiting in the wings for our Launch.

What makes me say that life is funny in an odd way is that the new banner, and a different template that will be here in a couple of weeks or so, was done by one of my pet trolls.

His name is buttermyself, and we have an odd relationship. He occassionally posts comments, that I rarely let through, and we email each other back and forth, calling each other all sorts of names and blowing each other off.

But he left a comment that said my template sucked worse than I do and did I want some help with it.

I emailed him a pissy remark, he emailed me back stating I was a douchbag.

    We're like that.

But his comment was regarding my template, (which I had screwed up the color on that night and was too tired to mess with anymore) and he was offering his help. Turns out he is a webdesigner, among other things, and you can find his work on sites tagged with "OSL8".

So I sent him the template, and he sent me questions on my favorite sites and colors and what images I might like.

A friend pointed out recently that guys are like that. We can punch each other, call names and pull the meanest tricks, but guys are quick to let things slide or pass altogether, and form, if not actual friendships, loose relationships based on grudging respect and/or that inherent need to fix things that is most peculiar to men.

Buttermyself did a fantastic job on the banner, and I really can't wait to see the new template.

As for his status as a troll, I don't expect him to wuss out and get nice, and I certainly won't be taking his shit since I didn't before....but I will probably start letting his comments through, if simply for the fun of calling him a tard or something.....maybe.
From an email I received...this was too funny not to share. Oh, and a tip o' me tam to Mustang.

I have a friend who is president of his homeowner's association down in Washington D.C. They are having a terrible problem with trash on the side of the road that is around his association's homes. The reason according to Wallace (my friend) is, there is being built just next to them, six new homes.....big ones! Wallace said the trash is coming from the Mexican work crews working at the construction sites. (McDonald Bags, Burger King trash, etc). He has pleaded with the site supervisors and the general contractor to no avail, called the City,County, the Police and got no help. So guess what some people in his community did?

They organized about twenty folks, named themselves The "Inner Neighborhood Services" to go out at lunch time and "police" the trash themselves. It is what they did while picking up the trash that is HILARIOUS !!!!!!!!

They got some navy blue baseball caps and had the initials "INS" in gold put on the caps. It doesn't take a rocket scientist, however, to understand what they hoped people would think it means.

Well the day after their first pick up detail, with them wearing their caps and some carrying cameras; 46 out of 68, of the construction workers did not show up for work the next morning and haven't come back yet! It has been ten days.

Now the General Contractor, I understand is madder than hell, but can't say anything publicly, because he could be busted for hiring "illegal aliens". Wallace and his bunch can't be accused of impersonating INS folks, because they have it on their home owner association records the vote to form the new committee within their association, plus they informed the INS about what they were doing in advance, and the INS said basically according to Wallace, "have at it"!

SO FOLKS, I THINK YOU COULD SAY THAT AMERICAN INGENUITY TRIUMPHS AGAIN!

For those few of you that follow horse racing, the favorite of The Preakness, Barbaro, winner of The Kentucky Derby, was pulled up out of the gate apparently with an injured hind right leg. Barbaro broke through the gate before the start of the race.

Once the winner of the Kentucky Derby is out of the Preakness it becomes just another race, even though it is still the middle jewel of the Triple Crown, as a Triple Crown Champion is now out of the question.

Congratulations go out of course to the winner of that historic race, but once Barbaro pulled up it lost a lot of meaning for a lot of people.
I received a surprise email today from my little brother Cesar, who has been deployed to Iraq.

Hey whats up? I just got home on Sat. so call me so I can visit
you. my number ***-***-****. I'm staying at dads house right now too.
    talk to you later,
    Cesar

The sense of relief that my little brother is safe is palpable, but over ridden by the pride I have for him, and swamped by the fact that he is home. I don't know what is next for him, but if he is home for awhile, I know a good conservative leaning internet radio station that has a job for him.
Cross-posted from Right on the Right:

We need a wall, a big wall, a thick wall, a tall wall, and a heavily guarded wall. We won't get all of that, but the Minutemen are at least giving us something of a wall, to prevent the CRIMINAL aliens from coming across the border. I'm happy to announce that the Minutemen will soon be breaking ground in Arizona in their "If you don't build it, we will" campaign.

    Via Minuteman E-Mail Update:

Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) will be conducting a weekend border operation in Palominas, AZ that includes a border watch, Minuteman Border Fence Ground Breaking and repair of existing fence on the US Mexico border.

MCDC is moving forward with plans to build the Minuteman Border Fence. President Bush's response will not secure the border and the ground breaking will be done on 5/27/2006 Memorial Day weekend in conjunction with the AZ Chapter Memorial weekend border watch operation. We have been working hard to put plans in place for this historic undertaking.

This is absolutely awesome. The Minutemen are working hard to do what the American government will not, and they're assisting in the enforcement of our laws. The aliens hopping the borders are CRIMINALS and should be forcibly kept out of our country. If they want in, let them in JUST LIKE everyone else got here, legally.
There is an old joke that goes "What do you call a hundred (insert group here, most often lawyers [sorry Ric]) going over a cliff?

    Answer? A good start!!!

So why the title "A Good Start?"

    Because of this story here.

The headline is 242 illegal immigrants deported from Houston

    Which is a good start.

Many of these guys were "Honduran nationals and 36 Guatemalan nationals with violent criminal records and immigration violations", according to ICE.

Many of the Central Americans and Mexican nationals deported Thursday had criminal histories that include murder, drug possession, aggravated assault, larceny, burglary, sexual assault of a minor, gang activity and armed robbery, officials said.

Many violent criminals from Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico had been transferred to ICE custody after they served prison terms in state or federal facilities. Others had been apprehended by ICE National Fugitive Operations Program officers.

Some of the deportees were noncriminal aliens who had not complied with an immigration judge’s final orders of deportation.

But you just know that the criminal alien lobby is going to detest this action by our government, and action that is warranted, legal, expected and that we DEMAND they do.

    Like I said, it's a good start.
The Japanese government, enacting new measures to fight terrorism, will soon be photographing and fingerprinting foreigners that go there to visit.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Foreigners arriving in Japan will be photographed and fingerprinted on arrival as part of measures to prevent terrorism, under a measure approved by Japan's parliament Wednesday.
Civic groups and lawyers have said the legislation, approved by parliament's upper house, risks breaching human rights and invading individuals' privacy.

I wonder if Japan has a version of the ACLU?

We do it here, it only stands to reason that other countries, especially our allies, enact similar measures to protect themselves.

Some Japanese are worried that the program would violate "constitutional requirement to treat people with respect."

A "constitutional requirement to treat people with respect?"

Wow...it sounds like the ACLU had a hand in writing that bit of fluff, doesn't it?
Kender here, and I have wrested control of the blogburst from the hardy band of patriots that get it out every week because I am furious and THIS is a rant.

Our erstwhile and dearly beloved President Bush, having found one of his testicles behind the couch, FINALLY gets around to attempting to begin to consider taking the correct course of action by deploying 6000 National Guard Troops to aid ICE in securing our Southern Border in Name Only (SBNO) and the ACLU races with all haste to try to undermine the deployment by whining incessantly and lying to the American people.

"Oh-ho" you say, along with "Kender? How can you say that the ACLU is LYING to the goodly citizens of the United States?"

Here's how, and as usual, it is attributable to The Queen of the ACLU, The Beauty of the Bill of Rights, the Nancy of the Nine Amendments (ask him, there is no Second Amendment) Anthony Romero:

"Turning immigration enforcement policy into another military operation is not the answer. The president’s proposed deployment of National Guard troops violates the spirit of the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits the military from getting into the business of civilian law enforcement.
    (emphasis mine)
    source
    Did you catch that?

I made it real big so you would catch it, but how many of you actually caught it?

Actually the question should be how many of you even know about it?

SEC. 15. From and after the passage of this act it shall not be lawful to employ any part of the Army of the United States, as a posse comitatus, or otherwise, for the purpose of executing the laws, except in such cases and under such circumstances as such employment of said force may be expressly authorized by the Constitution or by act of Congress; and no money appropriated by this act shall be used to pay any of the expenses incurred in the employment of any troops in violation of this section And any person willfully violating the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction thereof shall be punished by fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars or imprisonment not exceeding two years or by both such fine and imprisonment.

    Let me repeat that.

    except in such cases and under such circumstances as such employment of said force may be expressly authorized by the Constitution or by act of Congress;

Got that? Never mind the fact that the since the Posse Comitatus Act is an AMERICAN LAW it should logically only apply to AMERICAN CITIZENS!!!!! But applying our laws to criminal aliens is a fight that the ACLU has won....for the moment.

But we all know that where the ACLU is concerned logic has nothing to do with it.

I propose the radical concept that it is SPECIFICALLY the job of the federal government to secure the border, and if we need National Guard Troops to accomplish that goal then that is what needs to get done. If these millions of criminal aliens were coming across with guns and in uniform would the ACLU demand that Bush not send the military to stop the invasion?

    I bet they would.

In WW2 the current ACLU would have been suing the government for placing anti-aircraft guns on the coast (many of those were placed on private property with the owners blessings) and demanding that blackout rules be abolished because forcing one to turn out the lights during a possible air raid would put them in danger of tripping on something in the dark, thereby depriving them of their right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Of course, the ALCU is more than happy to let someone pursue their personal happiness in the dark, often times even when it involves children, but that is a rant for another day.

The fact of the matter is that the government has failed us by refusing to secure the border, and we have been invaded. The ACLU is doing everything in their power to stop the government from doing ITS' JOB and in the process making us all a little less safe with each and every day that goes by.

Some people on the right are upset with those of us who disagree with President Bush's view on Illegal Immigration. Some people think this issue is going to divide the party. For me, this has NOTHING to do with politics and parties and presidents. This has to to do with protecting this country. No amount of threatening emails and other things will make me stand down. The truth speaks for itself on this issue. Why we allow our leaders to lie to us is beyond me. And my votes will go to those who want to protect this country vs. protect their political careers.

I read this and it says much of what I say. Kender's post about the April 2006 umemployment numbers says a lot too.

We cannot join the "bandwagon" of those who think this issue is dead. Congress is failing to do it's job and until they get IT, (IT being their job is to represent we the people) I will not let this die.

    Screw that.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics we had, as of April 2006
143,688,000 people in the work force with a 4.7 percent unemployment rate.

Now, I am not gonna run the math on this. I will let someone else that isn't as tired as I do that, but it seems to my sleep deprived old brain that rounding that 4.7 up to five, and grabbing five percent of 143.6 million you are looking at, what? Seven and a half million people unemployed?

With that many unemployed people out there why the hell are we letting in over a million people a year? Legally? Add in 12 million criminal aliens and, (you see where I am going don't you?) and what do you got?

A whole lot of people stealing jobs from Americans, THAT'S WHAT!!!!

Don't give me that whole "Americans won't do that work" bullshit. Make unemployment something harder to get (better yet demolish the damned thing and teach people to SAVE FOR A RAINY DAY!!!) and pretty soon people will be gladly doing those jobs that criminal aliens do.

As long as we have unemployment we shouldn't import workers....That makes no damned sense to me...Does it make sense to you?
Up here in Cow Hampshire things are a little...WET. But we saw a little sunshine for about 5 minutes late this afternoon (everyone was BLINDED).

Cool huh? Makes you all just want to move up here now doesn't IT???
My site, And Rightly So is about to be upgraded...and it's about to get a new design. I am staying away from it until it's done. Kender has graciously given me writer/Admin priviledges here and I am taking advantage of that!
Well well, the feather fondling, squatting-on-a-teepee, self described want-a-be Indian is being recommended for suspension. Is this enough? Free speech is no longer the issue with this freak. It's about plagerism and making up stories.
Do we want this type of animal teaching our kids ANYTHING??

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - An investigation of a professor who likened some Sept. 11 victims to a Nazi found serious cases of misconduct in his academic research, a University of Colorado spokesman said Tuesday.

One member of the five-person investigative committee recommended that ethnic studies professor Ward Churchill be fired, and four recommended he be suspended, university spokesman Barrie Hartman said.

Churchill has denied doing anything wrong. He said earlier Tuesday that he had yet to see the report.

University officials had earlier determined Churchill could not be fired for his comments about the terrorist attacks, but they launched an inquiry into allegations about his research, which included accusations of plagiarism and fabrication.

Churchill's wife, Natsu Saito, who also teaches in the ethnic studies department, said Tuesday she had resigned her tenured teaching position at the school but said she and Churchill have no plans to leave Boulder.

In her resignation letter, Saito accused the university of reneging on promises to her and the department, ignoring racial harassment of the department and individuals, and treating Churchill unfairly. She said her decision to resign was not prompted by the pending report.

Who in hell cares two shits about his wife? She's just as much a freak as he is.

MORE here. This report says he could still be terminated.

That is certainly one of the many conclusions I drew about them after reading the story linked here (free subscription may be required) and in the title.

Assemblywoman Noreen Evans, D-Santa Rosa (Ed-that's just north of the San Francisco area-no surprise there is it?), has introduced a bill that is gaining traction that makes it illegal for a kid under 13 to sit in the front seat of a car.

Under the "It's For The Kid's" program that the Democrats use to legislate more and more aspects of life and steal our ever lessening freedoms, Assemblywoman Noreen Evans' (Dipwad-Santa Rosa) Assembly Bill 2108 would also force kids to use booster seats until their eighth birthday or they are four foot nine inches tall.

Tell you what, I am less than three inches taller than that cut off point, so legislation that creates laws based on height requirements simply reinforces my belief that our lawmakers are just a bunch of "Goofy" people enacting "Mickey Mouse" solutions and are making laws that smack of amusement park rules (you must be this tall to ride this ride).

But it is exactly my height that has caused me to wonder if the Democrats hate seniors. You see, as I mentioned, I am barely above these height requirements, and I am gonna get old and shrink, and probably, someday, may even shrink down below that height rule. But are the democrats stating "Hey, when you get old and can't see over the dashboard you need a booster seat?"

Nope. They don't seem to care that there are perhaps thousands of people in this predicament, and this is because "It's for the senior citizens" is a Republican program, as it is generally Republicans that seniors vote for (because wisdom does come with age), and while I have your ear about that subject (this ties in nicely....watch this) have you noticed that it is the Democrats that seem to be going along with the whole "death with dignity" crowd?

Yeah.....the same people that wanna force your kid into the back seat to "protect" them (I REAAALLLY HATE THE NANNY STATE MENTALITY OF THE SOCIALIST LEFT), doesn't seem to care about your grandmother, and some of them are actively working to make it easier to kill off granny if her "quality of life" becomes "sub-standard".

See? The Democrats hate senior citizens.
So another Mothers Day has rolled around, and memories of life with you have a way of refreshing themselves right about this time....

Here are some of my favorites....and some of what they taught me.

The look on your face when you caught Jenny and I "killing" ants with your precious Dr. Pepper.....that taught us caution...and to rememeber to look over our shoulder when it counted.

Your never ending defense of Kimberly because "she's the youngest".....here's a little secret for you Mom....she is also the toughest....and a pretty good mom herself.....but that taught us to protect the littlest ones around us.

Taco Night.....that really only taught us that every kid in the neighborhood loved your tacos, and that when you made them position in line was everything if you wanted your share.

Sandwiches for every kid in the neighborhood.....you taught us how to share with that one.....and taught us how to share with a smile.

Cleaning the house to Patsy Cline....good music and a nice clean house is wonderful, but did you have to lock us out and say "drink from the hose?"

Locking us out.....that taught us a bit of independence, and to always keep a window unlocked so we could sneak in for a different toy or a bathroom break.

Christmas Morning....you never did succeed in teaching us that six AM meant just that, but you sure tried.

Backgammon....you are still the only one that wins against me....

Easter when I was three....yes I remember that...and I learned I don't like suits, (dressing me up in a white suit was insane, you know that right?) but I loved that bunny cake.

Countless halloween costumes that you stayed up half the night making.....We won a lot of contests because of you...and looked cool doing it.

Endless cookies for bake sales.....I learned what doing my part meant.

Quiet mornings in the barn, learning how to "rub" a racehorse from you taught me the beauty and majesty and tenderness of horses....and how to keep 'em sound and win races.

Learning the meaning of "pari-mutual"....how many Mom's would teach their son how to bet so he didn't go broke?

The winners circle at Santa Anita...and Hollywood Park...and Del Mar, Pomona, Stockton, Pleasanton, Vallejo, Santa Rosa, Sacramento, Bay Meadows, Golden Gate Field, Fresno, Turf Paradise and whatever other tracks I missed where we stood in victory, even if that victory was for some broke down claimer at the end of his days running for a tag at thirty two hundred....Tel Rio?

    Dinner at grandma's.....

Me beating on the car when the bird died.....

The legendary and daily screeching of you and Glenn in the afternoon when he was late for work on Lime...and Harvard.....and Princeton....

Every visit you ever made to my bedside in the hospital....

The day you lit your head on fire....

How proudly you showed Tiffany to Tom Metzger the day she was born...and dared him to say a thing about her skin.....

The look on your face when I got us a job with Manzi....when your plan was to take a week off....guess you shouldn't have drilled in a work ethic huh?

Quitting Mike Whittingham for being a putz....

Mornings flying down the freeway with you and Ray.....

Hiking in Chantry flats with all the kids....

I think I will save some thing for next year, Mom....

    I love you...

You taught me a lot, and we didn't always get along, but then...you were the one that taught me to speak my mind.
    1. "I'm gonna pump you fulla lead!"

    2. "Give me a stiff one, barkeep!"

    3. "Don't fret—-I've been in tight spots before."

    4. "Howdy, pardner."

    5. "You stay here while I sneak around from behind."

    6. Two words: "Saddle Sore."

    7. "Hold it right there! Now, move your hand, reeeal slow-like."

    8. "Let's mount up!"

    9. "Nice spread ya got there!"

    10. "Ride'em cowboy!"

And the Bonus: "I reckon this might hurt a little"

I knew it was only a matter of time before the ACLU would chime in on USA Today's leaking of classified information about the NSA program. And here it is....

    Via ACLU Website:

In a story released today in USA Today it was revealed that the NSA has been collecting call information about millions of American residents and businesses served by Verizon, AT&T and BellSouth. One industry insider referred to it as the “largest database ever assembled in the world.” The American Civil Liberties Union strongly condemned the Bush administration’s most egregious abuse of power to date.

In April, ACLU leaders met with White House officials, asking for a review of whether federal agencies working to combat terrorism are targeting innocent citizens or other lawful residents. Today’s USA Today report confirms that this is the case, despite White House assurances that innocent Americans are not the target of electronic surveillance.

“Once again, it is clear that the president and the attorney general have lied to the American people,” said ACLU Executive Director Anthony D. Romero. “The NSA spying program is not only focused on terrorists or international calls. The government is clearly tracking the calls and communications of millions of ordinary Americans and that's just plain wrong. This news serves only as further proof of how far we have slid into an abuse of power that undercuts the values Americans hold dear.

“Congress needs to analyze what intelligence is gathered, who is responsible for gathering it, and what actions will truly keep us safe,” Romero added. “We can no longer accept hollow, government assurances while they stubbornly refuse to answer questions about the NSA operations. These latest revelations should serve as further proof that this administration does not have satisfactory answers to these vital questions.”

The ACLU noted that there has never been a more urgent need to preserve fundamental privacy protections and our system of checks and balances than the need we face today. This latest transgression transcends the bounds of law and our most treasured values in the name of national security.

“Today's revelation about the NSA's data-mining program only further proves our point that Congress must fully investigate the Bush administration’s illegal NSA wire-tapping program,” said Caroline Fredrickson, Director of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office. “This warrantless database violates the constitutionally protected privacy rights of all Americans. This latest revelation serves as a clear signal that the administration’s no-holds-barred approach to ignoring the law governing electronic surveillance has reached new levels. The ACLU has urged the Senate Judiciary Committee to investigate NSA spying before attempting to legislate blindly on the issue.

While Congress is investigating that, maybe they should also take some time to investigate the hypocritical practices of the ACLU delving into its own members' private financial information. After all, that is much more intrusive, and has nothing to do with national security.

The American Civil Liberties Union is using sophisticated technology to collect a wide variety of information about its members and donors in a fund-raising effort that has ignited a bitter debate over its leaders' commitment to privacy rights.

Some board members say the extensive data collection makes a mockery of the organization's frequent criticism of banks, corporations and government agencies for their practice of accumulating data on people for marketing and other purposes.

    Yes, a mockery indeed.

The group's new data collection practices were implemented without the board's approval or knowledge and were in violation of the ACLU's privacy policy at the time, according to Michael Meyers, vice president of the organization and a frequent internal critic. He said he had learned about the new research by accident Nov. 7 during a meeting of the committee that is organizing the group's Biennial Conference in July.

He objected to the practices, and the next day, the privacy policy on the group's Web site was changed. "They took out all the language that would show that they were violating their own policy," Meyers said. "In doing so, they sanctified their procedure while still keeping it secret."

After spending 23 years on the ACLU board, the "defenders of free speech" issued gag orders to him, not to speak about the issue.

The people who are trying to gag my speech and Wendy Cabman's (ph) speech, they are the enemies of freedom. They are the enemies of free speech. And we're not going to concede the control of the ACLU to these renegades who are trying to hijack the ACLU.

Talk about compromising your values. This is the most hypocritical organization out there! Can someone please gag their whining? I'm tired of hearing about it. The ACLU have absolutely no room to talk on this issue. Perhaps they should practice their right to remain silent.

OK..bad joke....but the story linked in the title is not a joke.

Apparently the German Government is cracking down on prostitution of the illegal, non-licensed variety.....

It's ok to subjugate women and force them into prostitution if you license them....remember that....today it's whores...tomorrow?

If you thought it was bad when all I could do was type at ya, wait'll ya get a load of me runnin' my mouth.
Everyday I wake up thankful beyond belief that I am an American, living in The United States of America, and have the freedom to say what I wish, to whom I wish, especially to my government.

There are people in this world that don't have that freedom, unfortunately, and one of them has sent me an email, asking that I help get the word out that freedom of speech (what little of it that exists there) is under attack in Egypt.

As you may have heard by now, Egyptian Blogger Alaa Abdel Fatah has been arrested alongside 10 others while demonstrating in support of the independence of the Judiciary in Egypt and the release of previous demonstrators who were detained 2 weeks earlier. The Police entrapped them, cordoning off their peaceful protest and then proceeded to handpick the demonstrators that they wanted to detain, beat them, and then arrested them.

Alaa and those arrested with him are now arrested for 15 days "pending investigation", which could be renewed indefinitely if the state so wishes. He and the men were sent to the infamous Torah Prison and the girls to the Qanatir prison for the duration. This makes them hardly safe, because stuff that goes on in Egyptian prisons on the hands of the jailors: beatings, sexual assaults, torture of all kinds.

Currently there are about 48 detained, 6 of them are bloggers, and 3 of them are women. The best known is Alaa, which makes him the posterboy of this campaign - but getting them out is equally as important. Egypt has fewer than 830 bloggers all in all, 60 of whom are political and less than 30 are politically active. Now 6 of those are in jail - 20% of all politically active Egyptian bloggers - and amongst them one of Egypt's most highly profiled one.

This is by no means a co-incidence. Government agents handpicked people to arrest from amongst the protesters. They have been wanting to get Alaa for a long time now, precisely because he is high profile, and because he helps organizes the protests and spread the information through the blog aggregator he runs (www.manalaa.net). With Alaa gone, Aggregator could shut down without his maintenance and other bloggers could get too scared to be active and find no way to organize or reach one other. It's of vital importance that he gets released ASAP.

Sam Adams at Sand Monkey Blog dot com has the scoop on the rest of this. He does on to say:

Alaa is a secular democracy activist, and a tireless advocate of freedom, free speech and human rights. He organizes demonstrations and engages in protests against all kinds of injustices in Egypt and is the winner of the international Best of the Blogs award from Reporters Without Borders last December.

Alaa was arrested while protesting to support Egypt's Judges fight for independence. 2 weeks earlier he had organized a "National Unity" protest to show solidarity with Egypt's Christians who suffered a sectarian attack on 3 churches on Good Friday. Before that he was one of the few voices that urged calm and peaceful dialogue while the cartoon crisis was hitting its peak. He is a desperately needed voice of moderation and democracy in Egypt, and one of the few flickers of hope in a country whose future seems mire between the crushing rule of the regime and the fanaticism of the Islamist opposition.

And now Alaa needs your help. We have started an e-mail campaign to the Egyptian embassies and the US State Department in order to push for his release, and have started protests in front of the Egyptian embassy and consulates in the US for his release. We will also hold protests in France, Italy and Gemany. We could use your help in getting the word out and sending them an e-mail demanding his release.

Addresses for the Egyptian embassies in the US and Canada are available here, templates for e-mails to be sent to the embassies here, and the contact information for the person to e-mail in the US state department is here. If you are a journalist or know one, help us spread the word by writing about this or demanding your local newspaper write about this. If you have a blog or a website and would like to raise awareness about this issue, banners for the Free Alaa campaign can be found here and here. We could use any help we can get, so if you have any ideas or ways to help us, please do.

    All the best,

    The Sandmonkey

    Spread the word.
With the breaking news that the U.S. border patrol is notifying the Mexican Government of the whereabouts of the Minutemen Corps, those stalwart Patriots that have taken it upon themselves to guard our borders, one must wonder how those brave fellows that are charged with defending our borders and apprehending the criminal aliens that try to sneak into our country feel about being forced to hand over vital intel on the whereabouts of those that, by all accounts, are welcomed by the agents of what is now called ICE.

The audacity of the United States Government to hand over information regarding the location of people that are doing the job they are refusing to do is astounding, and handing that information over to a government that is notoriously corrupt and rife with connections to violent drug gangs, placing our Patriots in harms way, is breathtaking in the scope of depraved indifference as to the safety of its' own citizens exercising their rights.

In a sane world, this may even be considered treason.

But we do not live in a sane world.

We live in a world that is rapidly changing, and the forces of socialism that pound at our door and swarm over our borders, marching in our streets and demanding that we fling open our borders to the cesspool of third world corruption and elite cronyism that is increasingly the norm of Mexico and points south, and the entire European continent, is troubling in the least and threatens to destroy our country as we know it.

NAFTA, CAFTA (which the people in South America are increasingly against) and the push to create a "North American Economic Zone" that is akin to the European Union should make every American that can read stand up and realize that we are in trouble. The EU is rife with unchecked immigration problems, with immigrants not assimilating even after two generations with the backlash being seen in the recent riots in France. Not to mention that fact that poll after poll shows a majority of Muslims in London that would be fine with the idea of living under Sharia Law.

Open borders are dangerous, both to our economy and our safety, and the fact that the U.S. Border Patrol sees fit to report to corrupt and possibly hostile forces the positions of American Patriots that are standing in the breach where our government won't should make us stand up and demand that our government work to protect US, and not the hordes of criminal aliens flooding this country to steal our jobs and depress our wages.
Amidst record high gas prices a rumor heard on a radio station that a refinery was going to be reopened caused a minor uproar regarding the environment yadayadayada.

    It wasn't true.
In July 2001, Cenco formally abandoned plans to restart refinery operations at the 95-acre plant after residents and environmental activities lobbied state and regional air quality officials. Now, the company is in the midst of selling off what is left of the old refinery's equipment, while city officials pursue plans to redevelop the site.

Too bad. If we had more refining capacity we could make more gas, which would make gas cheaper.

How come the envirowackos and the rest of the left can't come up with one damned solution?
Had the Cenco refinery opened, it likely would not have produced enough gasoline to make any significant impact on today's high prices, Morse added, describing Cenco as "a very small refinery." It would have produced "only 50,000 barrels a day" had it reopened, he said.

Just how many "very small refineries" have been closed due to pressure from envirowackos? While one refinery isn't going to make a difference, keep adding in a bunch of small refineries and pretty soon you get a whole lot of refining capability.
The plant is near several small industrial parks, an elementary school, a residential neighborhood and a senior citizen housing complex.

You can't win with these people. Take a refinery away from all of that stuff that this refinery is located around and what do you have? A refinery in "a pristine wilderness area" and you can't go there either. Has any of you EVER heard an envirowacko state something along the lines of "really that entire valley is useless so the best thing to do is place a refinery there."?

As I said, you just can't win with these guys.
For those of you that have children, what I am about to say is going to hit home.

My son is still relatively young, and so far reasonably obedient. Who am I kidding? My kid's great.....he is smart as a whip (and before you ask about that saying have you ever been hit with a whip? It smarts!!!), keeps his room pretty clean, never talks back in a bad way and is actually pretty funny sometimes. But like every parent, I know that someday he's gonna change. He won't want to get out of bed anymore....he'll start to smell funny, keep odd hours and suddenly acquire strange looking friends. In short, he'll become a teenager.

That's fine. I know it's coming, so I can prepare for it, or rather, I can be prepared to not be prepared for it, if that makes sense. I expect the kids that I think dress odd and the not wanting to get out of bed and everything else that goes along with a teenager, but the one thing I won't put up with is if he suddenly becomes stupid, especially if he gets a friend that tells him that he doesn't have to listen or follow the rules.

That is what the ACLU does.

Linked in the title is the story of one young man that is acting stupidly (IMO) and the aid he received from the ACLU.
MONTEBELLO - Before delving into organizing student walkouts at his high school, Guillermo Tejeda made two prudent phone calls.

One was to the National Lawyers' Guild, the other was to the American Civil Liberties Union. (snip) From the ACLU, Tejeda and other student organizers received thousands of pocket-sized guides that spelled out exactly what their rights are - and what to do if they were arrested or disciplined.

Never mind that this kid is calling the NLG and the ACLU to basically ask "How can I get around the rules?", (if my son ever calls the NLG he'd better be prank calling), one of the major problems is that the ACLU is actually answering him. If a kid comes to you and says "I wanna do this" and what he wants to do is against the rules, the correct answer is NOT "here's how you stay out of trouble if you get caught." The correct answer is "I don't think that's a good idea AND since you aren't my child I suggest you ask your parents."

Not the ACLU. They jump on the wagon and start handing out little pamphlets advising the kids of their rights and what to do if they are arrested or disciplined. I wonder if anyone at the ACLU once thought "If these kids stay in school we wouldn't have to be telling them what to do if they get arrested or disciplined."

    Probably not.
By accounts from his teachers, his father and his fellow students, Tejeda stands out among his peers for his political activism. While still a sophomore, he organized protests against campus military recruiters and was active in several social justice groups.

I see this kid and the ACLU are going to have a long relationship. Personally if this was my son and he started running with this crowd he would be off to military boarding school before you could say Che.
"He is well-read," said Gilbert Gomez, Tejeda's teacher in advance-placement government class. "He does make an attempt to inform and is sincere in what he's trying to accomplish."

Did you catch that? He is "sincere in what he's trying to accomplish". The problem? He may be sincere but he is wrong, and the ACLU is aiding and abetting delinquency.
While Gomez said he admires the students for becoming more aware of the immigration issue, he believes the school walkouts "missed the point." The point, he said, is that schools "educate everyone here, even those who don't speak English."

Tejeda sees it differently. He believes the walkouts were necessary to call attention to the plight of illegal immigrants and their families. And he balks at critics who say students were merely trying to skip school.

We need a new word. "Plight" should be saved for when you are in a situation that you couldn't help being in, not when the situation you are in is of your own doing, and being an "illegal" (I prefer criminal) alien is solely the fault of the person in that situation. It's not as if they woke up in another country illegally, (although I am sure that booze and stupidity have caused that to happen once or twice) or were brought here against their will. Even the girls that are occasionally found in sex-slave rings aren't brought here against their will.
Even so, he believes some students went too far when, during a rally in front of Montebello High, they removed the American flag from its pole, hung it upside down and raised a Mexican flag above it.

He called the tactic "unnecessarily divisive."

"I've participated in the desecration of many flags, but that just distracted people from our message," Tejeda said. "Let's turn this page. This is about thinking differently about the border."

Now why am I not surprised to find out that one of the kids involved in the attack on our flag in Montebello had help from the ACLU?
Tejeda said he and a couple of his friends managed to prevent students from repeating the flag incident at Garfield High School later that day.

How much will you wager that by the time it rolled around to Garfield High that Guillermo has been informed that the actions of those kids with the flag was illegal?

It is tough enough to raise a kid today, I don't think the ACLU actively helping them to screw up their future and break the rules is a good thing.

    Do you?
