Iran has been clamping down on bloggers and has sentenced one to 14 years in jail. Fourteen years. That is one hell of a long time.
Here in America of course we have free speech. I could say anything I want about our government and nobody is going to arrest me for it. Unless I were to threaten teh Presidents life. I don't agree with that law personally because I believe it does infringe my free speech rights, but nonetheless it is there. (for the record I am not threatening W....I think he's a great man, and actually I woulkd love to meet him).
Anyway, in honor of my free speech Here are a few choice words for the government of Iran. (I may get a, what is it called? A Fatwa?....yeah, I may get a fatwa issued against me for this BUT.....)
You guys suck.....you are evil and wrongheaded, but I have known this ever since you put a teenaged girl to death for having sex. Whats next? Beatings for breathing heavy? YOu know what else? khomeni sucked also. That's right. Your precious khomeni sucked too. Bite me you evil shitheads.
Now I better bar the door and pass the ammo huh?

Sure looks like they are changing to me...
The youth of Iran are trying to change things. Policies there are slowly changing, but it will take awhile. The old guard needs to die off and the youth coming up need to come to power. It is changing, but it is still bad.
They do still suck.
And khomeni sucked.
And they can still bite me.
I was just having this little discussion with someone about how wide spread the "youth for democracy" movement really is.
I mean, don't get me wrong because I fully intend to support these bloggers for freedom until they are free and there is certainly some sort of movement towards reform and such but I will tell you that these folks still do not have the political will to stand up to their government in mass and march on Tehran. if they did, you might see the Ukraine. Since they don't or can't, I must question the desire and ability of the movement.
The second issue I have is the continued request of these folks for the USA to "assist them" but "not make war because then they would have to fight us". My question to these folks have been "if you can't peacefully march on your capital without being attacked by government forces and routinely denied your liberty what sort of help without invasion or some sort of military assistance do you think you can get besides America proclaiming your government illegitimate in a public forum while our allies sell your government more arms to kill you with?"
That's my dillema because I think these folks need to quickly decide what they are going to do because Iran cannot have nukes and we may have to decide to hell with the counter revolution, time for smackdown.
However, let me repeat, those that want freedom and want to be able to speak, I support them completely and without fail.
Free the bloggers or suffer the consequences.
