Edit Post
This is just the very beginning of the downfall, and hopefully eventual ouster, of the U.N. The U.N. has outlived it's usefulness. It is full of corrupt people who have the worst of intentions towards the U.S....
Wow...I was just doing research in the middle of this post and have found some things I had heard about and been meaning to get to browse.
What I have found is, to say the least, distressing....and to put it in words that are screaming in my head, FUCKING ASININE!!!!!
O.K., here is the deal. The U.N., and it seems, quite a few countries, are really chasing this "globalization" thing. They have a plan for an international criminal court, and on their "rogues gallery" is, among others, Kissinger and Ariel Sharon. Frankly I don't like the idea of an international criminal court that would essentially take away the rights of Americans to be tried by their courts under their laws.
Here is a phrase you are going to hear more of in teh coming years. Universal jurisdiction. I am going to do alot more research on this stuff.
To finish up this post I will say that the U.S. needs to get the hell out of the U.N.
The U.N. will be the downfall of freedom as we know it. More to come.
and fuck the UN

I would have to disagree with you. If you take a step back and look at the actions of the Bush administration, they have systematically attacked any body of government that has any power outside of their reach. CIA, FBI are both in their pocket. State Dept now has COndi Rice, THe house, Senate, Supreme Court, etc. It goes on even further, but you get the point.
While the UN is far from perfect, in comparison to Bush and Cheney, it isn't bad.
Case in point is the attack on the UN and Annan. The Bush admin is the most secretive in decades, but it stll doesn't take a genious to see through them and their methods after watching them the last 4 years. If you look at the way they've attacked the UN with their cast of usual characters like their WMD and Valerie Plame whistleblower Judith Miller NY TImes, it's pretty easy to see what happens.
Now lets get to one of the real issues the Bushies are making such a racket about the UN and the Oil for Food Program. WHich, by the way, they had alot to do with that money themselves, privately. ANyways, check out the article....

Attacked "any body of government" do you mean governmental agencies?
nascarblue, without a clue, said:

In their pocket? The administration gets to appoint the heads of those agencies. Its the way it always has been. What on earth are you talking about?
Then nascarblue, man can you SPELL clue? said:
"State Dept now has COndi Rice, THe house, Senate, Supreme Court, etc. It goes on even further, but you get the point. "
The point is that the State Dept is a governemnt agenciy that helps set and implement the policys of the administration that is in office. If your making a point with that statement I can't for the life of me understand what it is. The Senate and the House are ELECTED. They are Republican controlled because, now sit down for this shocker:
THE VOTERS PUT THEM THERE.
You start your next big arguement by stating:
"While the UN is far from perfect, in comparison to Bush and Cheney, it isn't bad."
Then you cite a "case in point" that is completely unrelated:
"Case in point is the attack on the UN and Annan."
THEN you start another topic:
"The Bush admin is the most secretive in decades, but it stll doesn't take a genious to see through them and their methods after watching them the last 4 years."
It doesn't take a genius. But then you're FAR from a genius aren't you? With lots of inside info into the Bush administration, I imagine your dance card is pretty booked on most of the anti American blogs you frequent.
Then you said this, which hasn't anything to do with the Bush administration being secretive but I guess you just figured "what the hell, as long as I have the floor":
"If you look at the way they've attacked the UN with their cast of usual characters like their WMD and Valerie Plame whistleblower Judith Miller NY TImes, it's pretty easy to see what happens. "
Find a teacher to diagram that. It doesn't take a genius to communicate a cohesive thought via the written language, but you can't quite get that right either.
And you point us, the reader, to Aljazeera? You have to go to that propaganda machine to prop up your argument?
(like anyone can even tell what your argument is).
And Bush's administration made money from the Oil for food criminal enterprise also? You're a regular Carl Bernstein. You could bring the Bush admin to their knees with your info, not to mention your keen insight into global politics and your unerring ability to communicate using only the english language.
Either that, or your just like every other anti-American liberal idiot with a computer and an internet account.
I pick the second scenario as being closer to the truth.
God bless America. Peace through VICTORY.
